Discover Sutton Bonington
Bonington Student Village is a popular student accommodation choice for those studying at the Sutton Bonington campus of the University of Nottingham – home to world-leading laboratories and specialist facilities for studying biosciences and veterinary medicine.
A small country village in Nottinghamshire, Sutton Bonington is a cosy community, with local pubs and restaurants you can become familiar with. The picturesque landscapes along the River Soar can make anyone feel at home in an instant.
Our Bonington student village is only a 30-minute drive from Nottingham and has a comfortable, safe and relaxed student vibe. If you’re a sports fan, there’s a host of sporting events in the city of Nottingham to choose from, including football, cricket, and ice hockey. There are also large music venues to enjoy with the Nottingham Arena hosting many events throughout the year, as well as a popular theme park, Alton Towers, which is approximately 40-minutes away.

Bonington Student Village
On the University of Nottingham’s Sutton Bonington campus, and a free bus away from the main campus, Bonington Student Village is ideal for students at Nottingham or Loughborough University looking for a relaxed environment with quick access to the city. The Village is nestled in next to shops, a supermarket and a sports centre, as well as ample outdoor space for you to enjoy around campus.
Places to explore
Sutton Bonington might be a more rural place to live, but if you’re craving some more energy and vibrancy, there are plenty of different nearby neighbourhoods you can visit in between your studies.
Nottingham
Named a ‘City of Literature’ by UNESCO, and the ‘Home of English Sport’ by VisitEngland, Nottingham boasts a legacy of athletes, writers, and musicians. There’s also a surplus of shopping centres, museums, and festivals, including the annual Pride and Denotate events.
Loughborough
England’s most strangely pronounced town is a great place to visit for classic entertainment without the hassle of the city. A cinema, market, and variety of food and drink locations, Loughborough is a perfect middle ground between Sutton Bonington and Nottingham.

How to Get Around
Due to the Sutton Bonington’s countryside location, this means it has less public transport available in comparison to the larger city-based accommodation. However, the village has adapted to welcome its student residents, and there are a number of transport options available.
Bus
Regular buses go to and from the University of Nottingham for free, and further buses are available for a short trip to Nottingham Trent and Loughborough University. These can also take you to the city with ease for whenever you fancy a day out.
Drive
Although the buses are regular and reliable, some may want to bring a car. With on-site parking, you can explore the midlands with no restrictions.
